I completed my graduate studies in Applied Psychology at NYU, during which time I was also a Clinical Intern at Columbia University. I furthered my Psychotherapy training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), the evidence-based and highly effective form of CBT, at the esteemed Albert Ellis Institute. To better understand and treat the wide variety of issues related to relationships, partnering and sexuality, I sought specialized post-graduate training at the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists and am a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist and am a Diplomate of the American Board of Sexology. To treat patients with Psychosomatic Complaints, I have also completed the Masters Class training programs taught by the Psychophysiologic Disorders Association (TMS/PPD). I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
I am honored to be an adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University and am also an Assistant Professor at the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. I also supervise budding psychotherapists who are new to our field.
I have extensive experience treating patients with depression , anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues and work-related performance anxiety . I work with individuals and couples in both traditional and alternative relationships and my work is confidential and without discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or any other factor.
I remain very active in the Psychotherapy community and regularly contribute to books, articles, radio programs, and blogs including The Huffington Post, PLAYBOY Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, Vice Magazine, Shape Magazine, BestLife.com, Bustle.com, Greatist.com and The Daily Beast, among others.
I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#004642) with offices located in Midtown, Manhattan, near Grand Central Station, and in Great Neck (Long Island).
